Monday 20th July 2009

Monday 20th July 2009.
Oh, what a day it was.
A day that will always be remembered by Who fans.
There's been happiness, there's been sadness and there's been a whole lot of anger.

There were strong rumours that the filming of Series Five would begin today and we were hoping it would be true.
There were chances that if it was true we would get some pictures but not many because most filming would be done inside.
We were also told that the BBC would do a press release later in the week with pictures of Matt Smith and Karen Gillan in costume along with details of Karen Gillan.

We didn't know what we were in for.

The day started with a press release from the BBC very early showing us The Doctor and his companions costumes and we were also told that the companion would be called Amy Pond.

Mixed reactions over The Doctor's outfit.
Some felt it was too old fashioned. Some felt that they were trying to cover up the fact that Matt Smith is so young with an old fashioned outfit. Some people were happy and some people couldn't care less.

There were also mixed reactions over the name "Pond".

Then later on we got pictures from filming and from then on, it just didn't stop.

Alex Kingston was seen in photos meaning that Professor River Song was returning.

But the most shocking news of all was that the exterior of the TARDIS had changed.
Changed to a more classic theme.
Many fans were outraged at this as the Nine/Ten era TARDIS was the favourite TARDIS of many fans and there doesn't seem to be any reason for changing it (Except for the fact that Mr Moffat doesn't like the windows on the current TARDIS).

This now makes the rumours of the TARDIS interior being changed even stronger.

Many fans are upset because there is too much change.
Many fans are excited for a complete new era.
And many fans don't know what to think.

One thing is for sure,
This has been one hell of a day!

Don't worry, I won't be doing posts like this usually. I just thought that this has been such an exciting and shocking day that it would be nice to reflect on it.
I was also inspired to do this when a friend (Dalek Thay of the Doctor Who Figures Online Forum) referred to my earlier round up of the day's news as a "Summary of the day".

Woops.
Ha ha, thanks for pointing that out a64.
I'll change it now.
In my defense, it was gone midnight and I was really tired. ;)
