New Eleventh Doctor Figures For Sale!

As I'm sure you know, two new Eleventh Doctor figures were released on Saturday night in a "Crash set". One of the Raggedy Doctor and one of the Doctor in his costume with red shirt and bow-tie. There is also an exclusive TRU version which has the Doctor in his costume with blue shirt, blue bow-tie and brown boots rather than black.

Anyway, I am selling these two figures (The Raggedy Doctor and red shirt Doctor) on eBay to raise a bit of cash. Before people start jumping down my throat, this is not scalping. I have started the items at 97p, much less than they cost. It's up to the bidders how high they go. It's not like I've done Buy It Now at 25 pounds or something. And also, I'm only doing this because I really need the money and to be fair, I do a lot of stuff for free such as the NTTAS Competitions.

These magazines are full of brilliant stuff and very informative! I highly reccomend them!

This edition is due out on Thursday 15th April with the RRP of 5.99

This cover was originally going to have the new logo on! Tom Spilsbury, the DWM editor, said on a certain forum that it would have the new logo as he didn't want it to look like an outdated magazine which has been sitting on the shelf for a while with no one buying it. Some other members, including myself, did what we Who fans do best and moaned and it worked! Tom changed his mind and used the old logo! I'm sure you'll agree this is much better! It matches the previous 4 and it wouldn't of seemed right having the new logo on a magazine about the specials.

Yes, as we all know, Doctor Who finally returned for a full series at the weekend and what a start it was! Did you enjoy The Eleventh Hour? Was it better than you expected? What do you think of the latest Doctor? Let us know for our upcoming review of The Eleventh Hour!

Doctor Who Adventures: Issue 160 - REGENERATED

Doctor Who Who Adventures is regenerating!

Out today is the very last issue with the old logo. Next week it's out with the old and in with the new... sadly.

Here is what it will look like:

It doesn't look that bad but the "Adventures" writing looks terrible. It's cartoony, childish writing which doesn't go well with a classy, adult logo like that. Absolutely terrible.

Anyway, the next issue is at the regular price of 2.10 and will come with a free TARDIS clock as well as the first in a set of tokens needed to enter a competition to win a life size Dalek!

The new DWA goes on sale on Thursday April 1st.

In other news, Doctor Who Magazine editor, Tom Spilsbury, has confirmed that the new issue of DWM, due out in one week, will be a multiple cover issue. The covers will be revealed next week. The issue will also contain previews for the first 4 adventures; The Eleventh Hour, The Beast Below, Victory of the Daleks and Time of the Angels/Flesh and Stone.

As you can see, it includes a clip from The Eleventh Hour of the Doctor and young Amy. Similar to the Doctor`s relationship with Reinette in The Girl in the Fireplace.

But now, there is the danger of spoilers. And once the UK tour of The Eleventh Hour begins, it will be almost impossible to avoid them. I hope no one ruins the surprise of the TARDIS interior (But no doubt someone who goes to the tour will)!

With the filming of Series Five wrapping up this Saturday, it has been confirmed that more adventures are on the way...

Piers Wenger (Executive Producer) has confirmed a Christmas Special (Written by Steven Moffat) and another 13-episode series (Starring Matt Smith). Filming for these will begin in July.

We're Back!

Yes, that's right! We are finally back!
After 80 days in the dark and alot of delay over the past few days, News Through Time and Space is back - and bigger than ever!

As you can see, we have a complete new design which I have been working on for ages! Let us know what you think about it! We also have 10 pages now so take a look around and again, let us know what you think! We need your feedback!

Later tonight, we'll start posting news again but there is one huge change - WE NO LONGER POST SPOILERS! By that, we mean things like set reports. Our spoiler definition here is if something is confirmed by the BBC (E.g The Daleks in Series Five), it's not a spoiler.
This means absolutely anyone can visit now! We may return to posting spoilers but it depends how this goes. The next few weeks will be a "trial run".

We really hope you like the new look and new pages! Please do take a look around and please let us know what you think. We've put alot of work into this and it has taken a long time so we really appreciate your thoughts.

Like I said, the next few weeks are a "trial run". We may still change things. But for now, this is News Through Time and Space.

One thing I haven't done is make individual banners for each page. I'll try and do that this weekend. I didn't have time before.

Hello everyone,

As you have probably noticed, we haven`t returned on the 23rd as I said we would. I`m afraid, it`s not just a delay - we are closing permanently.

I just don`t have time to run the blog. There are many reasons and I`m going to be even busier than I am now in the New Year so I think it`s time to step back. Besides, hardly anyone visits here so it doesn`t seem worth it. Unfortunately, the new design will never be seen, the new pages will never be opened and the online magazine will never be read. It is a shame as I had worked so hard on this blog and on the features I was hoping to launch on January 1st. I`m sure you`ll agree that the blog has been going down hill lately as I have been so busy. I was hoping this would change in the New Year but I`m afraid that it won`t and I don`t want to disappoint.

I would like to thank each and every one of you who are reading this. All of you people who visit the blog, who check back regularly and who subscribe - you`ll all made this such an enjoyable experience. And of course, special thanks must go to Chandra! Our back-up poster did such a wonderful job whenever I was away and was always able to help. He really was a tremendous help. Thank you Chandra!

So this is it, the final goodbye. I hope you have enjoyed the blog while it`s lasted. We`ve been running for 155 days, reached almost 10,000 hits and made 299 posts. It has been brilliant! Thank you all! So, for now this is goodbye. One day, the blog may return, infact, I`m almost certain it will. But for now, it`s time for a break. So in the words of the 1st Doctor, One day, I will come back. Yes, I will come back. Until then there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine :P

I am working on a new design for the blog including new pages which I hope to launch on January 1st and if I am going to do that, I need to concentrate on just that and not post.

"Christmas Is Cancelled"

Well, not really but since Naismith says that in the End of Time trailer I thought I would too :P
No, Christmas isn't cancelled but I'm afraid our Advent Calendar is...

I'm very busy lately and it's hard enough to post all of the advent stuff in my free time, never mind creating everything for the calendar. I just don't have time and there is no way I can fill all 25 spaces in the calendar. Lots of people promised me they would do things for the calendar and very few have actually done so. So, the advent calendar must end. Hopefully by next year the blog will be more popular and we'll have more contributions to the calendar.

But that's not the only sad news. Also, the blog is temporarily closing...
If I'm going to have the new blog design and pages ready for New Years, there's no way I can post news too (And even without posting news, I'm not sure if I'll be ready in time) so I am going to have to close temporarily while I sort it. Hopefully, we will reopen on Monday 21st December.

Welcome to Advent!

Hooray!
December is finally here!
And so, advent begins!

As you can see, the blog is a little decorated for Christmas with some lovely Christmas music and our advent calendar is here!

I have been very busy organizing the new advent page (I will be posting the stuff here but linking to it all from the advent calendar over there so that you can find it all in one easy place) so have not had much time to organize todays advent treat.

Firstly, everyday throughout advent we will be posting a brilliant Christmas song to get in the mood for Christmas.
To start things off, now that it's December, it's beginning to look alot like Christmas!

Also, timelord6 has very kindly made a brilliant video for the advent calendar using the Tenth Doctor action figure!

And finally, the first part of one of our advent stories can be read now! I have two big stories planned. One I have finished and is a 4-part story which will be posted from 20th-24th December and the other I started writing today and will be posting a part every other day starting today. Not sure how long it will be yet. I am also hoping to do the odd other story too so stay tuned! Anyway, here is Part 1 of Sontarans in the Snow:

The attic of 13 Bannerman Road was full of happiness on December 25th 2009. Luke, still in his pyjamas, and Sarah Jane were opening presents in front of Mr Smith who had a “Merry Christmas” banner on his screen. Luke unwrapped a rectangular shaped present and found inside the new Xbox game that Clyde had told him so much about. “But...” a confused Sarah Jane stuttered “I never got you that!?”.

“Then, who did?” asked Luke.

“Merry Christmas” said Mr Smith.

“Mr Smith? You got me this?”.

“Correct” Mr Smith replied.

“But how? You’re a computer!” Luke questioned.

“Exactly, Luke. I’m a computer, I have access to eBay” Mr Smith informed Luke.

“Thanks, Mr Smith!” replied Luke.

“So, Clyde and Rani and their families are still coming over for Christmas Lunch, yes?” Sarah Jane asked Luke.

“Yeah. Gita told me to thank you again. Oh and she said she’ll bring some brussels sprouts” Luke told his Mum.

“Clyde will be pleased” Sarah Jane laughed.

“Sarah Jane...” Mr Smith suddenly started talking again.

“Not aliens?” Sarah Jane asked fearing the worst.

“No. I just thought you might like to know that it is snowing!” he announced. Hearing this, Luke rushed over to the window and broke out in a huge grin as he saw a layer of snow covering Bannerman Road.

An hour later, the attic was completely empty. Sarah Jane and Luke were out in the street with Rani and Clyde playing in the snow and in the attic, Mr Smith was shut down leaving the room in silence. Then all of a sudden, Mr Smith activated himself in a rush and an “Alert” sign was flashing on his monitor as he said “Alert, Alert – Substance is not snow! Substance is not snow! Sontaran Clone Feed! Sontaran Clone Feed! ". Mr Smith continued to repeat this over and over again but no one was there to hear as the gang continued to throw what they thought were snowballs, at eachother in the street...

I have almost no ideas for stuff to put in the advent calendar so I really need you lot to send stuff in for us to use. Or even if you can`t make anything, give us some ideas. We really appreciate it.

I`m in the middle of writing two ongoing stories which I`ll post part-by-part over advent but I need more than that so please, if you have some spare time send something in for us to use in our advent calendar!

We're back!

Sorry for disappearing for so long. My very unreliable laptop crashed yet again so I have been unable to get online.

It's fixed now though so everything's good. I've got lots of stuff to sort out though!

Now for the bad news.
Despite me being back, I won't be posting news for awhile yet.
This is because I'm working on..

Our advent calendar!

I've just finished designing it and working out how I will make it interactive but now I need to start working on the content for it. Unfortunetely I haven't already started this because of my laptop crashing so I really need to get a move on.
I REALLY NEED YOUR CONTENT FOR IT!
That's anything - Stories, photos, videos, games, etc. Anything we can use for the advent calendar! If I don't get enough stuff, I will have to cancel the advent calendar. Please help us and send in something for the advent calendar. It will be greatly appreciated. We need stuff in A.S.A.P. Preferably before Dec 1st but you can of course continue to send stuff in throughout advent.

As a thank you, when advent is over we will have a vote for the best thing included in the advent calendar. Whoever created that will win a prize! I'm yet to decide what it will be but it will be good!

Hi everyone,

I`d just like to apologise for not posting since Thursday or even changing the banner. I`ve just been so busy. I`m working really on our Children in Need celebrations and I`m hoping to launch it all on Tuesday so we have 10 days of fundraising but I`m not sure if it will be ready or not.

Here are my current ideas for CiN which I am working on:

- Scratchcard game I posted about a while ago.

1 pound to enter. Prize is the new (Not even out until tomorrow!) SJA Series 2 boxset. What do you think about that idea? What do you all think of the prize? Would you enter?

Like when people run laps for charity and get sponsors, you can sponsor us for every post we make on Children in Need day. Don`t worry, we won`t do posts for the sake of it.

Of course, we will also be open to normal donations.

As a thank you, everyone who donates over 1 pound (Be it through a competition, sponsoring or just donating) will be send a Children in Need balloon. Also, whoever donates the most money will be sent a 6 inch Pudsey bear! Again, this could be money donated through the competition, through sponsoring or just donating. It can be anything. The Eternity Trap: Part One

Absolutely brilliant episode and very creepy! Surprised they went that far with a children's show but I am so glad they did.

Really, really good episode. Only down-point was the annoying scientist guy (Toby?).

Oh and I thought it was so much better without Luke in. It's a shame that if Luke ever leaves, the show probably will because from that episode, I think it works much better without him.

I think this would of been even better if it went before The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith because it would of been great to get everyone ready for Halloween.

So, yes. Excellent episode and Part 2 looks brilliant.

Classic Who Online!

A deal has been done between BBC Worldwide and MSN Video to supply classic episodes of Doctor Who online. The stories are available free on the MSN website and has started with 1965 William Hartnell story, The Web Planet. New episodes will be added every Tuesday and Friday as of 10th November.

Never Mind The Daleks

Phil Jupitus who is well known for being a team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks is talking about a Never Mind the Buzzcocks Doctor Who Christmas Special on Twitter.
Apparently it will star Bernard Cribbins and Jo Whiley on Phil's team and Noel Fielding's team will feature Catherine Tate and Jamie Cullum. To make it even better, Mr David Tennant will be the guest presenter.

No transmission date has been announced but it is expected to be during the week leading up to Christmas and apparently, they recorded it yesterday.

I just wanted to say a quick thanks to MJF, a64 and of course DoctorWhoDave for deeming my entry good enough to come first in the Halloween comp. A very nice surprise. I really don't think mine was the best though!

I nearly withdrew my entry after submitting it as I didn't want Dave to look bias if he thought my entry was good enough for a prize! But I then decided that he would make the right decision whatever he decided to do and he showed that by asking a64 and MJF to help him judge. :)

Well done to Thay and DS08, your entry's were brilliant and also to Dalek 101 and Teh BURN.

The whole thing was a really nice surprise.

Yes, it's the moment you've all been waiting for, it's the Halloween Contest results!

We received five brilliant entries and it was very hard to judge them.

I`d just like to thank everyone who entered.

Now because Chandra entered I realised that people might think it`s unfair that I was judging as Chandra helps with the blog even though I was judging impartially. Therefore, I got two more judges so that this was completely fair. So big thanks to a64 and MarthaJonesFan for helping to judge the contest!

Each rank equalled one point so for example, if two of the judges ranked an entry as 1st and the other ranked it as 2nd, that would be 14 points out of 15 and the entry with the most points won.

Like I said, it was really hard to judge and I hope no one is disappointed about the results. It was very close but here are the results.

We think it's a good picture and the lighting has been used well but it isn't too Halloween-y

Wow!
I haven't got much to say really but what an amazing episode of SJA! My favourite yet!
A very touching episode and it was great to see the Doctor meet the kids. The scenes with all of them were brilliant and I so wish they had gone for a trip in the TARDIS. The only fault is how the Trickster was defeated. It's just getting boring with people going back on their agreement to defeat him. However, the episode was still absolutely brilliant and I loved the ending. Very emotional with SJ and the Doctor.

A must see adventure.

I personally think that is a terrible date. It should have been on a Saturday and to make it even better, it should have been on Halloween.

Tomorrow is Halloween!
So to celebrate, we've decorated the banner in a Halloween-y way. Sorry it looks so terrible.

The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith Part 1 Thoughts

Phew - I got back from town just in time to see SJA and what an amazing episode it was.

Some thoughts:

- Rivalry between K9 and Mr Smith was brilliant but I think they went over the top with K9 and he got annoying
- Hearing the TARDIS all the time got very exciting
- I thought that I recognized the alien in the box - it was of course Travis Colon from Mark of the Berserker
- It all felt quite rushed. I think they should of either done a mega 3 episode thing or an hour and a half special
- The ring making SJ think she'd done things and making her decide to do things was very intriguing
- So glad they made excuses for Maria and the Brigadier not being there. Although I was hoping Maria might make a surprise appearance. Also, for those who don't know - the Brigadier was going to be in the episode but he couldn't because Nicholas Courtney suffered a stroke when they were due to film. He has now however made a full recovery
- Ending was brilliant. I thought it would end with the Doctor shouting "Stop this wedding now!" but it kept on going and was extremely exciting
- Can't wait to see K9 and the Doctor reunited

So it was a very good episode but could of done with being longer. Still one of my favorite episodes though and the best is yet to come.

Can't wait for tomorrow!

Sarah Jane Adventures Reminder

Don't forget that tonight, part 1 of The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith is aired on BBC1 at 4:35pm!

The Doctor isn't in it until the very end but tomorrow we'll have 25 minutes of Tennant to enjoy!

A nice little coincidence - tonight we see the Doctor on our TV's once more (Albeit for only a few seconds) and it was one year ago today that the Doctor himself, Mr David Tennant, announced his departure from the TARDIS.
Since then we've had two brilliant hours of Doctor Who and we've still got over 200 minutes of Tennant to enjoy (Including Specials, SJA, Dreamland etc.). The best is yet to come!

Halloween Contest Update!

Not very good. I only have Powerpoint and it was done very quickly. What's more is I only have one Sea Devil so I had to do split screen and for the first time.

Sarah Jane Adventures Advent Calendar

I have been thinking about how good it would be to have a Sarah Jane Adventures advent calendar.

What with there being no Doctor Who advent calendar this year (As far as I know), the SJA as popular as ever and the Doctor appearing this series, I think it could have sold really well. I'm surprised they haven't made any SJA advent calendars - SJA is always on in Autumn when the advent calendars go on sale and previous series' have ended in December when advent calendars are "being used" so I really think they could have done well.

Anyway, I've done a mock-up of what a SJA advent calendar might look like. Not very good but the only software I have is Powerpoint.

Sarah Jane Adventures: The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith

This weekend, there were some advance screenings of part one of The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith in Liverpool following by a Q&A session with the cast and there were also lots of fun SJA activities throughout the day. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it to the event but subscriber, timelord6 was there. He has very kindly written up an exclusive preview of the episode for News Through Time and Space! Don't worry, it doesn't give away any major parts of the plot!

Here it is:

The episode started nicely with hints of mystery and as the episode progressed, little hints of the ending came along. There were plenty of laughs and quirky situations involving Sarah Jane's boyfriend and the gang and some funny scenes including K9 and Mr Smith. The climax of the episode was very interesting to watch with Clyde at the ready for something bad to happen while Luke and Rani were enjoying themselves and then just as it seemed everything was fine...

BANG! The cliffhanger came and then the credits...

Great review there! Thanks timelord6! A brilliant NTTAS exclusive!

I can't wait to see the episodes! Not much longer for the rest of us to wait!

SJA Update

I was right!

I said that it looked like in The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith, The Trickster puts the church in "limbo" and I was right! I just saw a new trailer (Not the next time trailer) on the CBBC channel (After The Mad Woman in the Attic repeat) and it showed the church clearly in limbo. Also, as soon as The Doctor runs in and shouts "Stop this wedding now!", the Trickster appears and makes himself along with Sarah Jane and Peter disappear.

Wow, this looks very exciting.

The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith Teasers

Digital Spy have shared some great teasers from next week's SJ adventure, The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith. I have posted them below but some are a bit cryptic so I have added my thoughts on those ones in italic.

1. DT is technically in both episodes, but he doesn't appear right until the end of the first one. His opening words? "Stop this wedding now!"

2. Ahh yes, the wedding. Sarah Jane is getting married! To Nigel Havers. Erm, correction: a businessman called Peter Dalton who is played by Nigel Havers.

3. Yes, their relationship moves quickly - although there is a lot of use of things like "one week later".

4. But that aside, there's definitely something untoward going on here. Who's to blame? Why, it's Sarah Jane's old friend The Trickster!

5. When The Doctor shows up, he's quickly parted from Sarah Jane (and the TARDIS). He's got the kids to help him out, though.

6. The Doctor says two of his standard catchphrases: "Allons-y" and "I'm so sorry."

7. The Doctor is referred to as "the man of ice and fire" and is told that "the gate is waiting for you".

Reference to The End of Time but what gate? The Gate of Elysium? And presumably, it's the Trickster who says it

8. One of the kids receives a massive shock. Literally.

Electric shock and presumably, it's Clyde who gets it because in the Series Three trailer, him and the Trickster are sort of giving eachother electric shocks

9. Words are nice, but here are two exclusive pictures from the episodes:

10. The story ends with an exchange between Sarah Jane and The Doctor that provoked tears at DS Towers. And she has a final line that we'll all be thinking around Christmas time: "No-one's **** ***** ** ****** ***."

I for one am extremely excited!

Also, there are some advance screenings of The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith in Liverpool today which, no doubt, everyone will be posting about. It will probably ruin many surprises in the episodes but there's not much chance of being able to avoid the spoilers so I will be posting anything that other people post.

Doctor Who: Children In Need

Russell had said this before but it has now been confirmed - this Children in Need, we will see a preview of the Christmas special like last year.

This means that by 20th November (CiN), we will have seen The Waters of Mars so it's most likely going to be broadcast on Saturday 7th November or Saturday 14th! Not long then!

Oh and don't forget we'll be celebrating Children in Need here at News Through Time And Space and raising money! Hopefully the celebrations and fundraising will start on 1st November after our Halloween celebration and competition! Stay tuned!

The Mad Woman in the Attic: Part 2

Here are my thoughts on Part 2 of The Mad Woman in the Attic.

Bad points:

- Do they have to use Clyde's intro every episode? It's just getting annoying

- Sarah Jane's flashbacks were very undramatic and fast

- If time was changed so that Luke was still alive, surely Luke would have SJ's house?

Good points:

- Bit with future and past Rani ending sentences in mirror together was good

- K9! Hooray!

- "I'm in a spaceship under a beach" Best line ever

- Mr Smith: Will you be staying here now?

K9: Affirmative

Mr Smith: Oh...good

Ha ha! I look forward to more scenes with the two of them!

- An alien, a spaceship, a caretaker and a teenager!? That's a spinoff just waiting to happen! Lol!

- Great twist with the boy fixing time. Didn't see that coming. I thought it would be resolved in current time, not future.

- The trailer for next time was great. Looks like as soon as The Doctor runs in saying "Stop this wedding now!", the whole room starts shaking and that's when The Trickster appears. I think the church is then put into "limbo" (Like Maria was in Whatever Happened To Sarah Jane) because in trailers, the Trickster is seen floating around outside the church just like in limbo.

Overall a really good episode. The best in the series so far. Series Three is starting to look up.

Lots of SJA news!

First of all, don't forget that part 2 of The Mad Woman in the Attic is on today at 4:35pm on BBC1.

Here are some of my thoughts on Part 1:

- Much, much better than Prisoner of the Judoon but still not living up to Series Two

- I hate the new format! 25 minutes just seems too short!

- The future scenes are set in the same year as The Waters of Mars is set

- Nice reference to the Time War

Part 2 looks like it's going to be great especially since we're going to see The Doctor!

Yes, that's right! Infact, we'll be seeing three of them!

In the same way that Eve looked into Rani's future in part 1, she'll look into Sarah Jane's future in part 2 but will also look into her past! So we will see flashbacks of the Third and Fourth Doctor's (Footage will be from The Time Warrior, Planet of the Spiders, The Hand of Fear and The Five Doctor's) and as for the future, we will see the TARDIS materializing in Sarah Jane's attic with the phrase "He is returning, he is coming back". Then towards the end of the episode, there's another glimpse into the future where we'll see the Tenth Doctor and we don't mean the next time trailer! And if that's not enough for you, K9 is finally back too! But Mr Smith isn't very pleased about that.

Also, there is a two page spread in the Radio Times about next week's story, The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith, which sees The Trickster and The Doctor finally meet.

The story has also made the front cover of Total TV Guide:

New Blog Feature!

It is with great pleasure that I can announce a new feature to the blog!

I've only been working on it for two days but I think it is just about ready.

I'm not saying what it is yet but I will say that it will help you keep up to date with all upcoming Doctor Who merchandise, TV, etc.

So, the new feature will be launched at 6pm tomorrow (Saturday 24th October)!

Oh and for those of you who don't know, I also have many other features in store for the blog including a new design, new pages and something else which I'm keeping to myself for now and if all goes to plan, it will all be launched sometime on New Years Day!

That gives me time to sort everything out and it seems fitting to launch a new design at New Years.

The reason I'm launching this early is because I only thought of it on Wednesday and although I was originally going to launch it with everything else at New Years, I am very excited about this and it didn't take long to organize so I can launch it tomorrow!

TARDIS Interior, New Monster - Exciting Filming

So what is it? A new monster or something we`ve seen before?

Some people think it could be a Sea Devil or Silurian. I think a Sea Devil is possible. After all, there were rumours of Sea Devils in episode one. Although, is it me or does it look a little like...

...here is the TARDIS interior as we saw it on location. We all couldn't believe it when we saw it there, at the front gates of the Churchyard, in plain site of the dozens of people watching - the crew didn't seem to bat an eyelid that we could see it...

2009 Specials News

In the latest issue of SFX, Russell and David discuss what's still in store for us in the three remaining specials.

Here's some information from it:

In the Waters of Mars (Which we discover in SFX is set in 2059), The Doctor and Adelaide are like two equals and at times, two rivals. As everyone else has said, it is very scary but we learn that they had to change one aspect of the monster on set to avoid traumatising children. Although it's an under-siege story, initial drafts had them all getting in a shuttle and flying to a hydroponic plant.

As for The End of Time, there are little aliens that appear throughout the story. Could these be slaves to the Master? I think we can assume that these are the little green aliens that Russell referred to earlier in the year. This adventure is Earth-bound but it doesn't all happen on Earth. After saying that, David asks if he's said too much. Obviously, he must be referring to Gallifrey!

Finally, in the last three specials, The Doctor experiences emotions which we haven't seen him experience before, and doing things which Tennant hadn't even conceived that the character could do before.

It's all getting very exciting now!

The Waters of Mars will be broadcast next month and part one of The End of Time will be broadcast in December with part 2 following either later that month or early January.

Doctor Who - Project 3

Something I've been meaning to post about for a week now.

Earlier in the year, Russell T Davies said that the Doctor Who team were working on three special projects (Not the specials) to do with The Doctor for this year.
The first was The Doctor in Sarah Jane Adventures.
The second was Dreamland.
But we still knew nothing about the third. Rumours suggested it would be a Children in Need mini episode but Russell denied this and said that they didn't have time to do a CiN scene this year and so they would just show a preview of part 1 of "The End of Time" as they did last year with "The Next Doctor".
Then, Russell announced with great sadness that the third project had fallen through.

But in the latest issue of DWM, he says otherwise:
Just this morning, I saw the edit of Special Project 3 - it's not for Children in Need, it's something else - and it looks amazing, though God knows what it'll do to canon!

Very exciting!
So just what is the third project?
Some people seem to think it will be Doctor Who Christmas Idents but as much as I would love this, I don't think it is that because he says "God knows what it'll do to canon!".
What do you think it is?

That's the only rule of what you can do - the rest is up to you.

Hi everyone,

I just got back from camping and would just like to publicly thank Chandra for his amazing work on the blog.
He's posted every little bit of news and has done a brilliant job! He's also caught up with news for me after I fell behind earlier in the week due to an upcoming competition (Launching tomorrow if all goes to plan)!
He has done a truly brilliant job!

The latest bit of news about the Sontaran gun is absolutely brilliant! I'm so happy that we are the first blog to report it! That's brilliant and if we do that sort of thing enough, it could bring more people to the blog! Obviously, there's no proof that it's Sontarans but it definitely is a Sontaran gun. Even if it's not Sontarans, who cares? When it comes to things like this speculation is all the fun! Perhaps it's just a Sontaran gun in a museum in the future which the Mona Lisa grabs or perhaps it's what we all want to see - the return of Kaagh! After all when it comes to SJA, we don't know much about upcoming episodes. We saw hardly any filming and there are many shocks in store that we don't know about - for all we know Maria could be in the Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith?!? So very exciting news there.

The campsite I go to is closing for the Winter now so I won't be going again this year so I just want to thank Chandra for the brilliant work he's done every time I've been away. I've been able to enjoy all of my holidays safe in the knowledge that my blog was being well looked after. I'm sure you'll agree that Chandra has done a great job over the past few months so...

Oh and like I said, I will hopefully be launching our Halloween Contest tomorrow if all goes to plan so stay tuned!

Sontaran connection in Mona Lisa's Revenge?

I think your going to like this. I was flicking through this weeks DWA, when I found this picture:

The picture is of Mona Lisa after she has come to life in 3.9 and 3.10. But on closer inspection, the gun that she is wielding is a Sontarans! Last seen being held by Commander Kaagh is series 2 (below).

I have looked all over the internet and I can't see anyone else that has realised this yet. Remember, you heard it here first! I was very lucky to notice it! If your going to re-post this information to your blog, please credit ours.

So what do you think? Coincidental or not? I do doubt that the Sontarans are in the episode, but this is a slight breakthrough.

SJA Series 4 & 5

'Although the team is waiting for official confirmation of the show's future, work has already begun on the next two series. "The scripts for next year are being written already," says the show's leading lady, Elisabeth Sladen. "Everybody's up and running with it..."'

This is a comment made in this moths DWM.

There was a rumour back in 2007/8 that the production team had intended to shoot series 2 and 3 back to back, and this was indeed confirmed by Russell T Davies in interviews, although he admitted the plans fell through because of funding trouble. With the cast getting older (Daniel Anthony is now 22, for example) one way of ensuring there's enough material in the can before they look too old would be to go back to this plan, and record two years worth of material in one go.

So, series 4 in 2010 and then series 5 in 2011?

The Sarah Jane Adventures dropped as Radio Times cover

Many fans are fuming after David Tennant and Elisabeth Sladen have been dropped as the cover of the Radio Times (week the 24th October).

Tennant did a photoshoot with Sladen and K9 for a cover for the episode The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith, but the plan to have them on the cover has been dropped and BBC bosses are tight-lipped about who will replace them. A Radio Times spokesman said We do many different shoots in advance of publication and can never guarantee every one will be used.

It is expected the Radio Times will still have a feature covering The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith though.

DWM (Doctor Who Magazine) was 30 years old yesterday!

To the left is a picture of the very first issue entitled 'Doctor Who Weekly' on the 17th October 1979! It became 'Doctor Who A Marvel Monthly', which became 'Doctor Who Monthly', which became 'The Official Doctor Who Magazine', before becoming 'Doctor Who Magazine (DWM)'.

2010 Classic DVD releases!

Dan Hall, commissioning editor for2entertain, at the Time and Again convention in London has revealed the following information about 2010 DVD releases.

The two Peladon stories, The Curse of Peladon and The Monster of Peladon, will be released as a box set on DVD in January 2010, this release replaces the Kings Demons/Planet of Fire box-set which is delayed due to clearance problems.

He also indicated The Mind of Evil, will be released in 2010

Plus a re-visitation box-set, featuring new versions of early DVD releases, is in production as well!

Meanwhile 2Entertain have also confirmed the re-release of the Key to Time DVD Box-set in November. This will not include new features, but will be repackaged in a standard slipcase to house the six DVD's.

A farewell to the Screwdriver and TARDIS that we know

For those of you who were worried by all the change for the Matt Smith era, here's some pictures to cheer you up!

The two on the left show the Ninth and Tenth Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver literally blowing up in the hand of the Eleventh, and burning his hand. Hence the reason for a new Sonic. Whilst in the past, the item has just miraculously changed it's appearance, it now looks like the 'Who team really care about continuity which is great news.

He obviously then makes a new Sonic, therefore that being the one that we saw in the first few filming pictures.

And for those of you in uproar about the new TARDIS exterior

design changing, to left is a picture of the previous two Doctor's TARDIS (CE & DT). Though the windows are black which makes it look burnt or that there are no lights on inside.

Dalek Thay, a subscriber said, "I am expecting a nice scene, well, two, one where it regenarates and one where it makes itself look like it used to, both in and out." which looks very plausible.

Dreamland Update

The latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine has revealed new images from the forthcoming animation Dreamland. The computer~generated story will start on the BBC's Red Button service later this month and will comprise of seven episodes (each lasting six minutes). Pictured above is Lord Azlok (played by David Warner) with Colonel Stark (Stuart Milligan) and below that is a production sketch of The Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) in a diner.

Doctor Who Magazine #414 is released today and features a three page special on the series.

- The character will be Vincent Van Gogh.
- He stabs the monster, who is yellow.
- The BBC have designed the monster, Curtis had to decide if it was yellow enough.
- He still says it will be screened in February.

The February screening supports an early transmission for season 5, or even the split season theory!

Barry Letts - Who and me

Barry’s family have been in contact with us and it is their firm wish that the book is still published and goes ahead as planned. However, understandably due to circumstances, it is likely that the book will be held up for a week or two whilst we make additions to the book and reflect on recent events.”

Barry Letts began his screen career as an actor, starring in the Ealing film Scott of the Antarctic and TV dramas such as The Avengers, The Moonstone and Gunpowder Guy in which future Doctor Who actor Patrick Troughton took the lead role. In the 1960s he switched to directing, taking the helm of classic shows such as The Newcomers and Z Cars.Barry got his first taste of Doctor Who in 1967 when he directed the six-part serial The Enemy of the World. Personally, my least favourite is definitely John and Edward. I think the Over 25`s and the Girls are very strong categories and the Groups are certainly the weakest. I don`t know who`s my favourite or who I think will win but I think Jamie is great (amongst many others) and think him and Olly could go all the way to the final.

Robbie Williams is making his comeback live on the X Factor tonight and last years winner, Alexandra Burke, will also be performing. Next Sunday, Whitney Houston will be performing on the Results Show.

New Fourth Doctor Figure

Guess who`s coming to visit this Christmas?

A brand new figure of the Fourth Doctor has been announced and will be released on 16th December, just in time for Christmas.

This lovely figure is of The Doctor in his Pyramids of Mars outfit and the accessory is a piece of the TARDIS control panel which he used to defeat Sutekh.

Design a TARDIS

Blue Peter have now launched their "Design a TARDIS" competition I reported a while back.

This is what the BBC says:
"Children aged between six and 12 are invited to create the new control panel which operates the time machine. The winning design, to be chosen by new Doctor Matt Smith, will appear in one episode of the sci-fi show next year."

So it's only in one episode. Presumably, The Doctor's fiddling around with the desktop theme.
Entries must include household items such as teapots and lightbulbs which is rather intriguing.

Entries must be sent in by 2 November and unfortunately, 12 is the age limit.

Barry Letts (1925-2009)

Barry Letts, well known for his work producing Classic Doctor Who, sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 84.

Letts was once an actor but became a producer in the 1960's and soon found work as a director on several BBC programmes. His first work on Doctor Who was a director of the 2nd Doctor adventure, Enemy of the World and went on to accept the job of producer of Jon Pertwee's first series in 1969. Letts worked on Doctor Who for the following five series'.

Letts was involved in the creation of Sarah Jane Smith who, of course, still stars in the show occasionally to this day and even has her own spin off show and he also was included in the decision to cast the legend that is Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor.

He helped to keep an eye on series 16 of Doctor Who back in 1978 when producer, Graham Williams broke his leg and Barry later worked as Executive Producer in 1980. For many years thereafter, Letts wrote novels, novelisations and radio serials connected to the programme. He also appeared on DVD commentaries and in various documentaries.

Despite no longer working on the show, Barry remained a fan and was connected with the show right up until his death.Barry Letts was also well known for his work on Eastenders amongst the many other shows he worked on.

Yesterday, just a few hours before Letts died it was announced that he would be doing a signing soon of his autobiography (right) which is due for release in November. Unfortunately, that will never happen.

It is a great loss not just Doctor Who fans but for the entire world.

Graeme Harper Interview

SFX has had an interview with Graeme Harper all about the Waters of Mars:

Just how scary is The Waters of Mars?
“I’m not sure if it’s as scary as Blink, but it’s quite frightening – because it’s so real, I think. I hope so!”

How on Earth do you go about making water scary? And what were the challenges of shooting with that volume of water?
"I hope you think it is [scary] when you see it! It was very, very difficult. We had a difficult time trying to work out how to do the water… can you imagine, the volumes of water that we required, in a studio setting? How d’you get rid of it? If you want to do retakes, how do you get everything dry again?

“The kind of water effect we wanted was sort-of mystical, almost organic – well, it is organic, obviously! – so the difficulty was deciding with the visual FX guys which one out of the effect they were offering us was the right one. They came up with five or six different kinds of pipes, hoses and systems. And eventually there was one that we all said, ‘That’s the one.’ There was a uniform yes to one particular effect, and that was the one we used.

“Now, how do you make it creepy? It seems to be alive, the water, by the way it follows the characters in the story. Sort of – we didn’t make a big thing of it in the story, but that’s how I shot it, so it was chasing people, following them and trapping them. The best effects you can get come out of seeing the enormity of the water, the relentlessness of it. I think where it becomes really creepy and you get the fear, is when it continues draining out of characters’ mouths.

“There was a very complex system of tubes and piping that they all had to wear within the prosthetics – and water was squeezed and pressurized through the tubes to give the volume of water we required to come out of the actors’ mouths on a continuous basis.”

“Waters” is going out in November, when the evenings are darker than during the regular series run. Did you have that in the back of your mind when you were deciding on the tone of the show?

“When I first read the script, it was originally going to be put out on Christmas Day, I think! I was quite worried that this dark, deep story, which is… well, I don’t know that it’s part of a trilogy, but it certainly will lead you into the finalé. You know something horrible’s going to happen after this story, involving the Doctor – but you don’t know what. I thought it was very dark – I mean, really dark, for Christmas. That’s not the reason they changed their minds to put it out in November – I think that was the controller of BBC One, deciding that maybe as we had three more to go, then one could be in the latter part of the year so that there wasn’t such a long gap between when the first special went out and Christmas. But when I knew it was going to go out earlier in the year, I was able to think about it in a much more dark way, rather than trying to keep the Christmas spirit!”

There seems to be some elements of foreshadowing in “Waters” – the stuff about the “four knocks”.
“I have to tell you, I haven’t seen, I haven’t read – in fact, I probably wasn’t allowed – to know how the next episodes, the final two-parter for David, starts and ends. I’ve no idea what it’s about! It’s going to end, obviously, with him regenerating into Matt Smith – but I’ve no idea what happens in it! So I don’t know to what extent the horror is in that two-parter. I knew about and read the previous script, I knew about the four knocks thing, so I understood what was going on, and what had been and what’s coming, and so on – in terms of the, “when four knocks happen, you know he’s going to die,” kind of thing. So I played on that, but I didn’t know quite what that meant and how it was going to happen in the last two episodes – and I still don’t!”

And the Doctor’s scared himself in this episode, which is a pretty unusual situation…
“Yes, but I think – with some exceptions, obviously – most fans of Doctor Who will know and feel sad and be hurt and worried and concerned – and wonder, is this the Doctor we’ve always known and loved, this ancient mariner traveling through the universe and helping people to help themselves, and being good and worthy and whatever, and showing them the way. And here he’s terrified. But I think that’s good, and I think most people will be interested to see how he gets out of this one. That what I think they think every time. But here, he really is in a very fearful state – and doesn’t want to die, obviously. I don’t think he wants to regenerate – I think he feels he’s got more to do, so how that gets resolved… well, I’m going to watch as well.”

Sarah Jane Adventures Countdown

To celebrate the upcoming third series of the Sarah Jane Adventures, we will be having a countdown here on News Through Time And Space.

Every day, there will be a different banner counting down to the premier of Prisoner of the Judoon.
The image used in the banner that day will also be posted as a jigsaw and will also be posted as an image so that if you don`t get online one day, you can see the banner the next day.

I was going to then make a huge post on Thursday with all of the pictures and videos we`ve seen of S3 of SJA but that would be a massive post. Therefore, I will instead post four of the images every day (starting today) and then post the videos aswell as four images on Thursday along with the videos to round things off.

I will then be posting my thoughts as soon as the episode is aired (and will continue to do this for every episode of the series) and you can feel free to send in your thoughts and opinions over the weekend after both parts have aired and I will then post all of your thoughts on the Monday.

New Doctor Who Logo

Sorry all. To be honest, I was so busy this morning that I forgot about the logo and didn't remember until I got home this afternoon. Then I couldn't get an internet connection but I'm back on now and ready to post the news.

So, last night it was announced that the 2010 Doctor Who logo would be revealed today. The BBC didn't disappoint and it can be seen below.....

Not too keen on it myself. Just too classic-y.
The old logo was small and neat, this is too big. I just can't see it on a figure or DVD. Ah well, I'm sure it will grow on us.

Doctor Who Filming

Lots of exciting filming has been going on today. Most interesting is Matt Smith and Karen Gillan`s outfits.

Firstly, Matt Smith:
He was seen wearing the Tenth Doctor`s outfit (Trousers, shirt and tie - no suit) like we sort of saw in filming last week which confirms the rumour that this is episode one they are currently filming..
The outfit is heavily damaged and it appears he has been in some sort of explosion (The TARDIS?).

As for Karen Gillan, she was dressed as a policewoman.

However, it has been mentioned that police officers don`t tend to wear such short skirts and so it has been suggested that she may be a stripper rather than an officer.

The Grand Reveal...

It has been announced by the BBC that tomorrow (Tuesday 6th October) at 8am, the new 2010 Doctor Who logo will be revealed on the official Doctor Who website!

Very exciting! I can`t wait!

I`ll be there tomorrow morning and will try and post the logo as soon as it is made available but if I do not have time, I will post it as soon as I get home from school.
